CSE Cables Comment : The Nexans Alsecure NXS is set to become one of the most sold cables in the UK due to the new wiring regulations BS7671, replacing twin and earth and some SWA cable installations. It is suitable for industrial and domestic wiring applications as it can be buried in concrete, attached to brick, stone, metal, wood and behind plaster. If the Alsecure NXS’s aluminium sheathing is penetrated by a sharp object (e.g. nail) it will trip a circuit breaker.

Name : Alsecure NXS to BS6004 and BS8436

Applications : Multipurpose including partitioned walls and voids. For power, lighting and control circuits. Fail safe will operate a 32A Type B MCB circuit breaker when penetrated by a sharp object.

Voltage : Alsecure NXS is 600 - 1000V like a BS5467.

Installation : Standard stuffing glands can be used. The wiring regulations BS7671 should be adhered to at all times. NXS can be installed in cable trays and baskets, direct on most surfaces and behind plaster. Indoors and outside.

Bending Radius : 6D

The Alsecure NXS is a general wiring cable not a fire resistant even though it has the same brand name. It is white in colour and like an SWA without the armouring.
